Sodium sulfite is primarily used as bleaching agent in the pulp and paper industry.
Using as a deoxygenating agent and bleaching agent in the printing and dyeing industry. It used for the cooking of various cotton fabrics, which can prevent the local oxidation of the cotton cloth fibers and affect the fiber strength, and improve the whiteness of the cooking fabrics.
Protects developer solutions from oxidation and (as hypo clear solution) wash fixer (sodium thiosulfate) from film and photo-paper emulsions.
